Yun Sun Young has served as a senior lecturer at the Department of East Asian Studies at the University of Vienna, Austria, from 2013 to 2016, where is currently teaching as a lecturer. Previously she taught Korean language and translation theory and practice at the Department of Japanese and Korean studies at the University of Bonn, Germany, for more than eight years. She holds a BA and an MA in German literature from Keimyung University, Daegu, and has earned a PhD in linguistics at the University of Bonn with a thesis on “German–Korean language contact, an empirical study of verbal behavior of bilingual Korean children in Germany”.
She has completed numerous professional development courses for Korean language instructors and was invited for teaching stints at Korean studies programs in Bratislava, Bucharest, Budapest, Helsinki, Krakow, Olomouc, Sofia, and Prague.
